5. How the vehicle-tracking service works
A Moto Halo tracker collects information about the location and status of the vehicle in which it is installed.
Information temporarily held by the tracking device is encrypted and transmitted over mobile networks to the tracking platform using secure telecommunications protocols. The information is then stored on protected cloud infrastructure.
The tracking platform uses this information to provide functions such as:
- Displaying a vehicle’s current location.
- Providing authorised location history.
- Generating movement or tamper alerts.
- Monitoring tracker status and connectivity.
- Supporting monitoring or recovery services where included in the customer’s plan.
Location and alert information may be made available to:
- Authorised users of the relevant Moto Halo account.
- Our tracking-platform and hosting providers.
- Monitoring and recovery partners where included in the service.
- Law-enforcement agencies or other authorities where legally required or appropriately authorised.
- Other parties where the account holder requests the disclosure and it is lawful to provide it.
6. Professional installation
Where you ask us to arrange professional installation, we may provide an approved installer with the information reasonably required to complete the installation.
This may include:
- Your name.
- Telephone number and email address.
- Installation address.
- Vehicle make, model and registration.
- Product and appointment information.
Installers must only use this information for authorised installation and related support purposes.

When you attempt or complete a transaction, Stripe may receive information including:
- Your name and contact details.
- Billing address.
- Payment information.
- Transaction details.
- Device and technical information used for fraud prevention.
Stripe may act as our processor for some activities and as an independent controller for others. More information is available in the Stripe Privacy Policy at:
Where accelerated checkout services are available, information saved to a Stripe Link account is managed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy.
We may share delivery information with couriers or fulfilment providers where necessary to complete your order.
8. Contact forms and spam prevention
When you submit a contact form, we collect the name, telephone number, email address and message you provide.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide requested support and retain an appropriate record of the communication.
Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help identify spam and automated submissions. Google may process technical information about your browser and interaction with the website for this purpose.

The Google Analytics property is currently configured to retain event data for up to two months and user data for up to 14 months. Aggregated reporting information that does not identify an individual visitor may remain available for longer.

You can stop receiving marketing communications by:

Stopping marketing messages will not prevent us from sending necessary service communications relating to an order, account, tracker, installation or subscription.

We do not disclose vehicle-location information to an insurer merely because a tracker has been installed. Any such disclosure requires an appropriate lawful basis or authorisation.
Shared tracking technology
Moto Halo may use technology and infrastructure also used in connection with FleetSmart services.
Where Northern Technology Ltd or another group or technology company processes Moto Halo customer information solely on our instructions, it will act as a data processor.
If another company jointly decides why and how personal information is used, it may instead act as a joint controller. Where this applies, we will provide information about the relevant arrangement and how you can exercise your rights.
12. International transfers
Some technology, payment, analytics, advertising or infrastructure providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where information is transferred to a country not covered by UK adequacy regulations, we will ensure an appropriate transfer mechanism is used where required.
